The 2026 UK Student Visa: a clear, current playbook

The UK Student Route remains one of the most predictable visa pathways available to Nigerian applicants — provided you understand the framework before you apply. This guide walks you through the 2026 process end-to-end.

1. Get your CAS — and read it twice

Your Confirmation of Acceptance for Studies (CAS) is the single most important document in your application. Confirm every field — course title, start date, tuition, deposit paid — matches your offer letter exactly. A typo here is the most common reason applications stall.

2. Financial evidence: 28 days, no exceptions

You must show maintenance funds held in your name (or your parents' with a signed declaration) for 28 consecutive days. The closing balance cannot drop below the required amount at any point during that window.

3. The Tuberculosis (TB) test

Use only IOM-approved clinics in Lagos or Abuja. Certificates from non-approved facilities are rejected and cause weeks of delay.

4. Submission timing

Submit no earlier than six months before your course start date and no later than three weeks before. The sweet spot is eight to ten weeks out.

Most rejections we see come from inconsistent financial statements or a weak personal statement that doesn't tie the course to a career outcome. If you'd like a private review before you submit, our admissions team handles document audits weekly.
